CS2420 - Digital Logic

This course covers the fundamentals of computer design by studying the algebraic methods to design digital circuits and how they can be used to design the basic blocks that are used to design a computer. An introduction to computer hardware and the technologies used to create, capture, and communicate digital information. A laboratory provides hands-on experience with the subject matter, e.g., electricity, combinational and sequential digital circuits, VLSI, etc.

Grading Policy	Attendance --- Required Midterm Exam : 25 % Homework Assignments : 20 % Lab ( assigned by lab instructor ) : 25 % Final Exam : 30 %
Grading Scale	Semester Average >= 89.5 A 79.5 <= Semester Average < 89.5 B 69.5 <= Semester Average < 79.5 C 59.5 <= Semester Average < 69.5 D less than 59.5 --> F *Grades are Earned and NOT Given.*
General Policies :-	1 - Attendance is a MUST and no grade will be assigned. 2 - Assignments will be assigned on occasions from the textbook or via handouts. This is used in order to encourage reading. No Late Assignment will be Accepted 3 - Assignment must be submitted in class (cutoff time will be the begining of the class of the due date). 4 - There will be *No Make-Up Exams / Quizzes*
Academic Integrity:	- Strict standards of academic honesty will be enforced according to the Texas State University policy on academic integrity. Academic dishonesty such as coping or cheating is prohibited in all academic situations and will be penalized accordingly. A student shall be guilty of a violation of academic integrity if he or she :- 1 - Represents the work of others as his or her own. 2 - Obtains assistance in any academic work from another individual in a situation in which the student is expected to perform independently. 3 - Gives assistance to another individual in a situation in which that individual is expected to perform independently. 4 - Offers false data in support of laboratory or field work.
